DragonRealms is a multi-player online game from Simutronics Corporation. Based upon the world of Elanthia, the same world which Gemstone III is based on. This is a place were thousands of players gather to enjoy a good bout of role-playing.
The information on these pages and links will help you figure out if DragonRealms is right for you, and if so how to get started.
The answer to this question is not very cut and dry because DragonRealms is not a game for everyone. Most noticeably it is text based. In today's gaming market real-time 3D, which is now greatly enhanced by massively powerful 3D chipsets is the norm, and a lot of people have come to expect it.
Even the most powerful 3D chipsets cannot match the power of the human imagination, after all it was the human imagination which spurred on the creation of these chipsets. It will often boil down to this. If you have decided that graphics is what makes the game then DragonRealms is probably not for you. If you are interested in a very interactive world, like to use your imagination, and if you read a lot of books. Then DragonRealms is more then likely right for you. Even the best 3D based game cannot touch the dept of the DragonRealms world. With multiple story lines being played out which are created by both the GM's and players alike. There are many different places to look for enjoyment within DragonRealms
DragonRealms is a commercial product produced by a corporation for profit. So there will be a charge for playing DragonRealms. Unlike some gaming networks which charge by the hour, Simutronics has flat monthly rates. The rates for playing DragonRealms are as follow;

DragonRealms Platinum: This is a separate version of the game. Basically a mirror image of normal game, with the exception is it limited to a certain number of people. This image of the game is for the die hard role-player who wants to have a fair amount of access to the GM's for in game events, and not have to worry about troublemakers within the game. The monthly cost on this is $79.95. This price includes access to both images of the game, and has premium rights in both versions as well. (Note: $79.95 is a charter offer which is guaranteed to stay the same price for 3 years, However once the game opens from beta the normal price for DragonRealms Platinum will probably go up.
